Speedy’s Hot Sauce

Speedy's #44 Hot SauceSo I was sittin’ in the Urban Velo booth at NAHBS, about to chow down on a much deserved lunch, when some dude comes up and hands me a bottle of hot sauce. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I graciously accepted and doused my take-out noodles in spicy goodness (see photo evidence here).

Back at home on the range, I’ve been reaching for the Speedy’s #44 pretty often. The most noticeable thing about Speedy’s is that it’s both sweet and spicy at the same time. It’s plenty hot enough to satisfy most palates, but it’s not so ridiculously hot that a smidgen ruins your food. I honestly never glanced at the ingredients until I sat down to write the review, but once I did things began to make sense. The main ingredient is carrots (one of the vegetables highest in sugar) followed by habanero peppers and roasted red peppers, peaches, water, vinegar, sugar, garlic, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, salt and spices. And that’s it. No artificial flavor. No food coloring. No preservatives.

That stuff is DAMN GOOD! I blew through my bottle in about three days…cooking food with the intention of dousing it with this wonderful sauce.

I’ll be checking this out for sure. Finishing up the “Blazin’ Rectums Frightfully Hot Salsa” and I need something new.

Jeff, thanks for the support. You guys know what the bike scene should be about. Let’s hope the bourgeoisie gets it. I love some nice bikes, but it is nice to see something in the bike world blossem that doesn’t have a ten thousand dollar price tag. Viva la revolucion! See ya later.
Gotta go get the hot sauce empire started.
