Rosene Bicycles Shop Tour

Cory Rosene is a custom framebuilder who lives and works in the city of Tucson, AZ. Urban Velo recently spent a week riding in the Sonoran desert, and took the opportunity to stop by his home workshop.

Cory apprenticed under David Bohm of Bohemian Bicycles, and after several years he started building bikes on his own. In 2011 he took home the Rookie of the Year award at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show. He’s now built about a dozen bikes, including the orange mountain bike pictured below, which is destined to be raced from Canada to Mexico by Urban Velo friend Rudi Nadler.

While he has rightfully gained a reputation for his mountain bikes, Cory is a multifaceted builder. He was influenced by his father, a road racer who owns a custom Strawberry. Cory says he’s looking forward to showcasing his talents once again at the 2013 NAHBS, and plans to bring a variety of frame designs.

See below for photos from Cory’s shop, and check out www.rosenebicycles.com.

Cory, can you build me a uni-fork road bike? Many have said it can’t be done but I think you could make it work.
