We’re getting one of these in for review soon, but until then check out the Pixel on video.

Cute video. But… what’s so special about yet another steel framed single speed road bike? Literally every manufacturer has a bike like this.

This video was the first time I’ve seen or heard about Pixel bikes. After watching that video I don’t see anything interesting or special about these bikes. This was just a really boring music video about a guy who rides a bike really slowly with a girl that he sorta knows.

Plus why were single speed bikes on the top of a mountain at the end? Climbing that road without gears would suck.

Welcome to good mainstream marketing, everyone. “Fast, fun, affordable”–it could be a car. This video gives me lots of hope. The bike is pretty generic, yes, but Fyxation is being super-smart, because they’re targeting women, and not in the ham-fisted stepthrough frame and pink panniers way (though those things are fine) that we often see.

The Pixel is quite a few notches above the Republic/Pure Fix/Big Shot/Critical Cycles/SE Draft clones. The frame actually is chrome moly on the 3 main tubes (by far the heaviest portion of the frame), and comes with better components.
Having ridden Big Shot and SE Draft, I can say that the Pixel does feel nicer to ride…it simply seems less crude/more refined. The glacier blue paint is simply stunning.
