Eurobike 2009

eurobikeNo, we didn’t fire up the Urban Velo corporate jet and fly to Friedrichshafen for Eurobike… We surfed the web a bit for a preview of what we’ll be seeing at the upcoming Interbike tradeshow. So without further adieu, here are a few things that caught our attention:

Dia Compe suicide levers. Shimano’s fancy 1/8″ chain. A wool jacket from Charge. A folding helmet, a dynamo-powered iPod charger and the lightest folding bike ever from Dahon. SRAM’s iMotion 9-speed internal hub. Steel bike porn from De Rosa. Leather covered helmet from Giro. Bianchi’s Pista Via Condotti. Prologo’s entry in the ugliest saddle ever contest. Cannondale Bad Boy 3-speed. Viva urban fixed gear. Tweed cap cycling helmet. Traitor fixed freestyle. Waldmeister wooden bicycle. Driveline messenger crankset. Solar powered lights from Blackburn. Globe fixed gear. Cinelli flat bar fixed gear. YikeBike folding bike. F44 fixed gear. Kona TT & Bandwagon and electric UTE. Van Nicholas Amazon. NiteRider Pro600/Pro1200 LED lights. Katz Reif commuting bike. Kuupas AR061 fixed gear. The redesigned Yuba cargo bike. DMR plastic saddle. Vanmoof bikes. Brooks cowhide saddle. SE black & blue fixed gear.

Hey, those Dia Compe suicide levers are cool. I have a set flipped around to the opposite side of the bars so the curve goes to the rear, on a set of upright, bent-back “cruiser” type bars on my old-English-bike-imitation looking single speed. They work well and have a good shine to them.

I just had this bike at the local bike shop trying to find a new head set that fit and everyone loved those brake levers. If you are looking for an “old look” these really do fit the part.

Those are *not* suicide levers — they are Guidonnet levers

In the old days Peugot specced them on many of their 650b bikes

Yeah, not suicide levers! They DO share a similar shape, though.

Looks like there might be some interesting new stuff at Interbike. Any more information on that F44 track bike?
