Cycling Champion Loses Reelection Bid

Democratic Rep. Jim Oberstar, a 36-year veteran of Congress who was one of cycling’s most important advocates in Washington, D.C., lost his reelection campaign in the Republican tidal wave.

As the chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Oberstar was one of the most powerful Democrats in Congress. But he also made frequent appearances at the National Bike Summit. The 76-year-old is also a cyclist.

It’s too bad a socialist-leaning president hurt the outcomes for fiscally conservative and wreckless spenders alike.

Marvin, while you’re on the computer, take a few minutes and go learn what socialism is.

Well, here in Ohio, probably because of anti-Obamaism, we lost a reasonably conservative Democratic governor and got a…well, a nut, I think.

    @ Budda
First, you’re a moron. Jim Oberstar was NOT a BLUE DOG in fact Colin Peterson from MN’s 7th district is / was the only Blue Dog representing MN.

Second, if anyone here is an ASSHOLE it’s you. Jim Oberstar has done more for bicycling and (perhaps more importantly for his state) the Iron Range of Minnesota than any representative we’ve ever had. Do me a favor and shove your head up MarvinK’s ass and the two of you can bask in the fetid odor of failure that the Republican wave has wrought upon our land.
