Velo Orange makes some of the coolest neo-retro and niche products around. And other companies have started to take notice and copy their innovative ideas, but Velo Orange seems to be staying a step ahead of the game.
Among their many cool leather offerings are these elkhide sewn-on bar covers. According to their website, “These covers are made of thick, but very very soft elk hide. They are pre-perforated and cut extra long so as to fit even the widest bars. They work on drop bars mustache bars, and many city bike bars.”
velo orange has some great products. have their seatpost and headset, and a elkhide chainstay protector. yes the elk hide is very soft…sorry mr. elk.
Well, it isn’t really all that thick (good thickness for hide, but it’s all relative). But I have some and Velo Orange gives you plenty of hide and plenty of waxed thread to lace them up and a nifty needle to do it with. And it looks good.
And they have a bunch of other good stuff.
