Owen and Bruno are correct. This is possibly the worst bike light I can imagine for any CX bike. Well, it even is bad for a road bike. I am CONSTANTLY readjusting the strap. Stupid $3.00 part and then they try tacking on $9.00 in shipping if you go online.

The old design was 100 times better but very fragile. Go with another brand like DeNoite. LM have serious design flaws, at least with the Vega.

I am selling mine as soon as I get a replacement strap.

Came across this website and wanted to quickly add my input as well. I agree with the above. Great light but very poor mounting option. Mine falls down as well hitting any type of bump. I actually attach it to the inside of my bar ends now, which is a non-friction material and it stays put there.

I am a new owner of the Vega 200 and I was initially amazed with this product. Light, bright, incredibly compact, and apparently well built — it is a wonder. But I am also amazed that L&M decided to pair this $150 light with a 25 cent elastic mounting strap. It would be much better if it mounted onto a mounting bracket that could be bolted to the bike (like my Niterider headlamp does). As it is, it is always slipping around, even when I have the elastic strap as tight as possible, and I have to constantly readjust the beam every time I hit a bump. The strap might support a lightweight $20 headlamp, but it is clearly a design failure for this otherwise good product.

Light & Motion's primary business is making diving lights for underwater photography. So yes, they're water resistant.

Hi, do you know, are these lights waterproof or water-resistent? Living in the PacNorthWest water is a big issue.

Thanks

No, they didn't ask. I don't really mind, but I'll drop them a note and see if they'll credit Urban Velo.

This is a bit of a dumb question but, is this light able to be removed with its strap still attached to the handlebars (sort of like an older cateye)?
