We’ve been doing international subscriptions for the past issue or two…
Hi guys! I’m a cyclist from Malaysia. I stumbled upon your site in June and i’ve read all your articles especially the “I love riding in the city” section. Awesome work. I’ve been waiting for the whole two months for the new issue. I have to give it to you guys - you rock! Can’t wait.
Anyway, just to let you know in Malaysia, where the Tour de Langkawi is held every year, the cycling culture is still in the infant stage. Yes we do have racers who went to the Olympics and other international games but in a community as a whole it’s still growing.
Fortunately, due to the petrol price hike in the recent months, the growth went up rapidly. Nearly everyday, local newspapers and magazines feature about cycling. We don’t really have fixed-gears gangs here but we have community rides and some started commuting to work. Most newbies picked up on mountain bikes. MTBs seemed to be the bike-for-all here. Mind you our cities are NOT cycle-friendly.
Me and a group of friends organised Critical Mass here in Malaysia. It’s more on cultivating cycling culture and promoting cycling among the society rather than fight for bike lanes. Guess we have to start from the very bottom. Promote and cultivate. The turnout is not as many as NYC or other major cities but we grew from 30 rider to a hundred in just three months time.
Thanks for the magazine and i recommended to all of my cycling friends. Your issues somewhat inspires me. I dig your articles, updates and your flickr photos (especially chicks on bikes) soothe me down every time i’m stress in the office. Haha! Kudos!
Cant wait!! Wish I could get my friggen bicycling pictures back so I can be in an issue…
Any girl track standing no handed is HOT in my book!
