Truvativ Holzfeller World Cup Riser Bar
The Truvativ Holzfeller World Cup riser bar is a surprisingly light riser bar considering its intended use—downhill mountain biking. At 700mm wide, it weighs in at just 260g, which isn’t exactly a record, but remarkable considering how stiff it feels.
Now as you might imagine, I had originally thought these were going to be relegated to urban cycling duties. When I measured the 31.8 section, however, I determined there was no way I could cut them down to a narrow enough width for polo or commuting. So I decided to put them on my singlespeed mountain bike, where the only “urban” riding they would see is the miles and miles of singletrack located within Pittsburgh’s city limits (namely Frick Park).
The 7050 aluminum bar has 7° of backsweep, 5°upsweep and is available with 20, 30, 40 or 50mm of rise. It’s comfortable and stiff at the same time, which inspires confidence. Color choices are tungsten gray or anodized black. The Holzfeller World Cup riser bar retails for $61. Visit www.sram.com for more info.
For those wondering, the bike is a custom steel singlespeed by Ground Up.
