The New PK Ripper

PK Ripper Fixed GearA few months ago, spy shots of SE’s new PK Ripper fixed gear appeared, then most mysteriously disappeared. We asked our contact, Todd Lyons, for the lowdown and he said the project, a collaboration between SE Bikes and DC Shoes, wasn’t ready for prime time.

Now it is, and it’s pretty bad ass.

The DC PK Ripper fixed gear bike will be available in matte black and ball burnished silver color schemes. Both will be limited to only 1,250 each worldwide. The bike will be available for $1,000 at select boutiques and specialty bike shops worldwide.

  • Soooooooooooooo stoked for this bike. For those not aware, this has been a partnership that has been on going since 2007 (07 yeilded a 20 inch PK, and last year they did a really cool Quad Angle 24 inch cruiser). This will be a pretty sick ride, and I really want to throw a leg over one.

Had an OM Flyer back in the day (Bullseye cranks and hubs, chrome Landing Gear Fork). Still one of my favorite bikes. I’ll always have a soft spot for loop tails I guess.

  • It’s all about the looptail on this bike. Looptail track bike, oh yeah. I remember wanting a Yeti looptail mountain frame so bad when I was about 15.

  • Are there benefits to the looptail, or is it a stylistic element?

  • The looptail is both stylistic and structural. Firstly I believe it was structural and then it just ended up looking good. The new bike is SIIIIICCCKKKK. I’m not much of an old school SE fan but this one is different. The Perry Kramer Ripper 20 is the best bmx SE ever made and this bike takes all of the elements of the 20 to a fixed bike. Very cool. I wants to gits one.
