The Bicycle Garden
Imagine a bicycle utopia where bike pumps are stationed on every corner and tools hang from the trees. Impossible? Yeah, probably, but maybe we can get there on small levels. An artist collective out of Brooklyn has plans to create a “Bicycle Garden” on a communal plot of land owned by the Brooklyn Queens Land Trust. The garden would contain pumps, a storage shed, free wi-fi and generators, and “We’ll literally have tools hanging from trees,” said one collective member. The group recently submitted their idea to the Good Maker art challenge, but fell short of the votes needed to secure the $5000 to make this a reality. Fortunately, even without the grant money they plan to make this a reality.
First, tools hanging from the trees. Next, espresso in every water fountain.
