Martin Garcia Ortiz is in critical condition, unable to speak, after a run in with police on August 10th. Reports indicate that he was stopped for riding his bike without a light, and possibly being intoxicated. The Ortiz family maintains that the police are not providing a full incident report, and that the police dashboard video camera footage is unavailable for reasons unbeknownst to them. Read more.

An old Mexican dude on a bike who had a couple too many cervezas…WTF!!! This is why people hate cops…”for some apparent reason the dashboard cam was not working” Yeah, alright…
Those two cops should be dismissed from the force. Failing that, put them on bikes with no lights and let other cops beat them like they did to Ortiz!
Well that’ll certainly show him for not using proper bicycle safety. All in all he was lucky though. Imagine what they would have done if he wasn’t wearing a helmet…

Wow, Aransas Cops are dirty dirty. Hope this guy can tell us the story when he recovers. Hopefully some surveillance vid out there! (checks batteries in my front light….)
