Texas State Law is ahead of other state laws? WHAT???

Sec. 551.103. OPERATION ON ROADWAY.
[lots of stuff cut above here, but it says bicyclist don't have to share lanes if:]

(A) less than 14 feet in width and does not have a designated bicycle lane adjacent to that lane; or

(B) too narrow for a bicycle and a motor vehicle to safely travel side by side.

Yehaw Texas!!!!

Of course TxDOT uses this as a measuring stick by which they put in a 14 foot (and NOT 14 foot one inch) wide curb lane and say: "We're great! We support cycling!"
