With the success of Don Walker’s NAHBS and the Oregon Manifest, fewer and fewer framebuilders are showing their work at Interbike. Thankfully, for fans of independent framebuilders, a few component manufacturers still recognize the value of displaying a one-off work of art like this Sycip mixte. It features a Shimano Alfine groupset, including an eight-speed internal hub and dynamo-powered headlight.

Would have rather seen a belt drive version with a more robust internal gear hub. There were a few of those on display at ibike. The Gates booth had one with a Rohloff hub… but would have been much cooler as a sycip mixte.
