From the Fixed Gear Blog, it looks as though Specialized has either got back to their roots or is jumping on the bandwagon. Either way, this photo of the 2010 Langster in steel is going to make a lot of mouths water.

‘A day late and a dollar short’, eh? Am sure it’s a nice bike, but the steel fixie thing can’t go on forever (though I ride a Paddywagon and love it!). They better hope they don’t miss the next big thing.
BTW: Trek/Gary Fisher have a 12mos. no payment promo. The GF Triton is a great path racer. http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/trek_credit_card/
about time they realize aluminium frames SUCK! too bad it’s not lugged! Still a nice bike, I approve!
They better make it in a 45, 46, or 47 (whatever, make them all!) so us short people can finally enjoy the bike.
I want one.
It is a GREAT day to work at a Specialized dealer. Employee discount here I come!
Hello, chromed steel! Back to the roots or onto the hipster wagon…it don’t matter — steel is real, baby! (channeling best Austin Powers impression that I can)
Diggin’ on the retro decals, too. Nice job, Specialized!
It’s funny — I periodically run into a fellow commuter here in Tampa who sometimes rides a vintage steel Specialized road bike, and I find myself coveting the classic lines of that frame…the mid-90s push toward oversized aluminum tubing has left my aesthetic sensibilities in a shambles and I’m always happy to see a company bring back the classic look and feel of genuine chromoly.
So nice!
I absolutely love the look of this frame, does anyone know how much it’s going to cost F+F? I do have to say though Ghost Rider, as much as I love Steel there’s no way you can argue that a Chromoly frame is going to be better to ride or perform better than an Aluminium frameset… Chromoly is heavy and antiquated and to be honest a bit crap… Aluminium FTW but this does look very pretty
I would definitely buy one. specially if they’re available without decals. I love the simple clean lines steel gives and would appreciate a lot to have guarantee from a huge company like specialized. lugs would be nice.
Nahguavkire…I never said anything about aluminum’s performance (although I’m not a fan)…I just don’t like the way chunky aluminum frames look…bloated and unrefined.
To answer Nahguavkire, the frame and fork look like they’ll retail for $440ish, and aside from the red and chrome frame there’s a white decal-less option. And the aluminum Langster is a sexy black.
On the note of steel versus alumi. steel still has it’s advantages. hell i’ve managed to bend and crack chromo frames. thus some people are to hard on bikes for aluminum. but all things aside to each his own. i prefer steel…..
dis is great!
Any idea/work on the tubing or if it’s double butted?
FELT did the same thing for 20210. The new FELT Brougham is a steel frame for $299. Not as nice in terms of paint work, but still a nice frame. You guys in NY and SF what’s next? The big companies have found you.
geo is way to lax……lame
The threaded headset on the langster looks funny it sits real high. can anyone tell me why, do i have to cut the fork to make the headset look normal. it seems like spaces is making the headset sit high.

Steel. Yumm. What kind of rear-stays clearance has it got? Can it handle 28’s with fenders?
ride real.
