The Cycling in Wichita blog recently posted a report on their trip to Mexico City. It’s not a Pulitzer Prize winning report, just some honest observations on cycling in a city with three times the population of New York. A city where traffic laws, “Are more like gentle suggestions.”
One of the most interesting tidbits is the author’s realization, that although Mexico City is working to promote cycling and awareness with posters and special events, they may still have more important matters to attend to first. “This is also a city whose government feels the need to post reminders that women are people too and so should be treated with respect.”
