The following is a not nearly exhaustive list of Singlespeed Commuter bikes for 2012, recognizing that it would be a pointless affair to even define a commuter bike. This list, therefore, comprises singlespeed bikes that are often used for commuting purposes, whether that is ripping through the streets on a stripped down fixed gear or hauling loads of cat litter back from the store on a bike with more racks and add-ons than tubing…And maybe even some in between. As in the past, please feel free to add your own suggestions in the comments section.

As I ride through Canadian winters, or Japanese rainy seasons, I’ve got a bias for: steel, fixed-gear, and room for fenders. These interest me:
- All City Nature Boy
- Fuji Feather CX
- Traitor Crusade SS
- Traitor Luggernaut 3 speed (Sturmey S3X)
Always good to see this list. I am still a fan of my Karate Monkey for SS commuting even if it is out of place.
SE also makes the Draft, Draft Lite, and the Lager which all fit the bill. Fuji also has the Classic Tack, Feather, and Betty. Torker makes the U-District. Redline still sells the venerable 925. Not coincidentally these are all bikes we stock at Thick
I just came across Republic Bikes that offer single speed to three speed. They’re becoming known for their custom colors. I haven’t had the opportunity to ride one yet, but whatever motivates someone to ride a bike I’m hip to.
My Specialized Tricross Singlecross rides like a speeding freight train thru the snow in Colorado.
Spot also makes several SS including with Gates Belt Drive like this Coyote as well as mountain SS.

I’ll take one of each…
+1 All City Nature Boy
Thick, Redline dropped the 9-2-5 from its 2012 lineup. Better get ‘em (and sell ‘em) while they’re hot!
Great looking fixie. Like the bar angle, nice!
