Sidi Insider Casual Shoes
Casual shoes are clearly big business, and Sidi is taking note of the success of other cycling brands crossing over into not-quite cycling specific footwear. As Bicycle Retailer reported earlier this month, Sidi is introducing the Insider to the US market as casual kicks complementing their racier options. The sole is not SPD compatible and beyond branding the shoe doesn’t appear to have any cycling specific features. Even the high top design itself looks off for riding… and a little bit of looking around the Sidi website shows that the Insider is in their urban and casual touring motorcycling boot range, explaining the high top cut better than than the flashback to the ’80s I was imagining in the Sidi office. Lose the neon laces and I’d wear them, at least with pants. Expect to pay about $140 if you can find them stateside based on the European pricing I’ve seen, with black, grey and the pictured camo versions available.
