If you work on your own bike and have internet access, there’s a good chance you’ve referenced Sheldon Brown’s website before. And while Sheldon is no longer with us on earth, he’s still with us in spirit. Now you can proudly display your fondness for the New England mechanic by purchasing a Sheldon Brown “Ride” T-shirt. Proceeds benefit MassBike.org, an organization Sheldon contributed to and supported.

Thanks a lot for the mention and to everyone who has ordered so far. The Sheldon shirt also comes in white and we’ve also got stickers!
Odd that there’s no mention of the shirt on the massbike website.
I’m not sure I’m a fan of someone using sheldon’s image to make money. It’s not ALL PROCEEDS, it’s just “proceeds”, which could be a penny per shirt for all we know.
Not cool IMO.
Hmm…in the BSNYC “colourway.” Interesting. Is it possible that the RTMS will be the Obama poster of cycling fashion?
BUT HOW TO SPLIT THE ROYALTIES?
Cool shirt but the link to mass.org sends you everywhere but?
I would’t pick up this shirt unless the whole process was approved by his family. Sheldon is a personal hero, and I’d be pissed if someone was abusing his name. Charitable proceeds means nothing. I wanna know who what where and how.
I’d love to have this in my collection, but I must decline.
This shirt is way cool!
i’ve been told the guy shipping the shirts will gain 1 buck, the silk screening is a donation…so the Proceeds will most likely go to the non profit benefits…
watever man! the shirt has Sheldon Browns holy image!
Naysayers ahoy!
I assure you that I’m not “abusing” Sheldon’s name in any way. I work in a printshop, have extremely low overhead as far as the production of these shirts go and as echotraveler said, I’m only keeping a buck from each individual sale to cover the time it will take to print, pack and ship all the shirts (which I feel is pretty fair considering all that is involved). Everything else will be donated to MassBike.org in Sheldon Brown’s name (just as his online eulaogy instructs).
I hope that clears it up.
I can understand the naysaying. Echotraveler’s got it right…I’m keeping $1 per shirt as compensation for printing, packing and shipping them (which is more than fair, considering everything involved) and the rest of the proceeds (after covering actual production costs) will be donated to MassBike.org, as Sheldon’s online eulogy suggests.
Nothing wrong with that, right?

These shirts are only $12. It covers the cost of the shirts, materials, and shipping. The guy making them only pockets $1 each to cover his time and efforts. Everything else after costs goes to charity. That is more than fair! He’s only doing it for fun, not profit.
for doubters: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=596422
the dude making these is a long time bikeforums.com member. he and some friends made a few of the shirts as their own personal tribute to mr. brown and there was such an overwhelming response that they’re printing up a few more.
nobody’s “cashing in” or anything. just a grassroots effort to make some cool shirts and donate some money somewhere sheldon could look down and be proud of.
I bought some items from this site and it arrived super fast. Shirts and stickers are well worth the price. I wish I had bought more Ride stickers.
