I just bought the Selle titanicoX for the bike ride across Georgia. I loved it. I was able to wear my running shorts and felt comfortable the entire 385 mies. It did rain all day once and the seat got wet. I had to stretch it out quite a bit. I also noticed the nose wobble from side to side. Don't know if that was due to the stretching or not.

I got this as stock with my '12 Canondale T1 tourer. I'd never tried a leather saddle but had heard that they took a lot of breaking in. Given that it'd been a long hard road to break in my previous cheap saddle (and/or my butt) I viewed this with some trepidation, but the spec for the T1 was ideal. I thought I could always swap it out if I hated it.

Amazingly enough, it just felt 'right' and it needed no breaking in at all. Although I don't do great distances, I've never been happy with sitting for long, being 188cm and 110kg, so racing saddles were a literal pain in the bum.

It's like magic! I can ride for as long as I like without worrying about crippling myself.

The only caveats, as Brad mentioned, is that the nose can be snaggy, especially with loose shorts; and that the length adjuster works loose, making it squeaky. Some locktite or similar should fix that, I've been too lazy and just tightening it back up when it annoys me enough.

I'm currently riding a touring saddle from another manufacturer on my road bike. It turns out that when it's adjusted to make my back happy, I get terrible boils/saddle sores, which is ruining my love of cycling. I'm considering the Anatomica Titanico, but I don't have a lot of money with which to experiment. Does this saddle work well for women as well as men? Can it be used for road biking, not just commuting or touring?

After reading a few reviews - like this one - I thought I'd take the plunge. At 6'6", 220lbs, I am used to having to fit me to components and was pleasantly surprised when it felt great right from the first sit. I am still playing with the tension adjustment but more because I am a "there's an adjustment, let's adjust it" character rather than out of any real need. Looking forward to some long rides on this saddle. Great customer service too.

Excellent write-up. I run the Titanico/Clydesdale version on my commuter and gravel/adventure bike, and absolutely love them. The highest compliment that I can bestow is that didn't think twice before ordering my second one.

I looked at one of these at the local bike store. I noticed that they "guestimated" at sit bone locations and that indentations already exist there! I'll have to haul out my Brooks B17 and compare it to the Selle indents. If they line up reasonably well, seems like the saddle for me!

I became an early fan with the purchase of their "Robusto" model that used Brooks hardware and modified Brooks leather. It remains my favorite saddle for century rides and touring. For my cross bike I use a Brooks Pro upgraded with their anatomic slot and leather laminate under-layer. I also have one of their first Titanico Saddles to use their own hardware and leather. The Titanico is super comfortable but not without issues. My first Titanico suffered from bent rails which they cheerfully replaced with just an email to their excellent customer service desk. The second problem was the saddle leather started to flare out quite a bit which I addressed with some old-school lacing that actually looks pretty good too. Lastly for the Titanico the way the leather is finished on the front end of the saddle tends to snag bike shorts so I have it on my fixie which I ride in street clothes. There is one issue that is continuing to nag me regarding the "anatomic slot". Last September I broke a rail on the modified Brooks. When I removed the broken frame, it revealed a surprise! The frame's bracket was cracked just in front of both rail attachment points. My concern is the anatomic slot may allow more stress on individual rails instead of being shared between the two. Inspection of my other two saddles doesn't show any problems, so I am just keeping an eye on it.
