The Schlumpf Innovations two-speed crankset is not exactly new. Florian Schlumpf brought his Swiss engineered planetary drivetrain system to Interbike several years ago and received a warm welcome from the budding off-road fixed gear enthusiast market. To switch gears you kick a button with your heel from the right or the left, and the cranks work with fixed cogs and freewheels.
In recent years Schlumpf has further refined his product and introduced an entire line of cranksets designed to suit various on-road and off-road applications. His newest addition is a modular unit that can be easily adapted work with traditional chain or belt drive systems. Visit www.schlumpf.ch for more information.
