It seems a week doesn’t go by without some word of a cycling fatality caused by a motor vehicle. So it’s nothing less than sickening to hear that the two latest fatalities came at the hands of someone who was appointed to protect and serve us. Sad stuff. From my experience, cops often exceed the posted limits with no reason other than that they can get away with it and enjoy speeding. They are no more talented at or better equiped for seeing “invisible” cyclists than your average motorist, and this is what can make them dangerous.
