Road Fatalities Map

This has to be the most fascinating display of data I’ve seen all year. It is an interactive map of “virtually” every death that occurred on United States roads that involved a collision with a car. When you zoom into a specific area, you can see where the fatality took place and what type of individual (car occupant, cyclist, pedestrian, etc.) was involved. I’m guessing this could be an incredible resource for transportation advocacy groups of all sorts.

The information was pulled from the National Traffic Highway Safety Administration and the map was created using OpenStreetMap.
