Riding Without Bikes
Chinese artist and photographer, Zhao Huasen, has a fascinating work of photos depicting everyday chinese people riding bikes…without bikes. The bikes are photoshopped out of the images, leaving the riders seemingly floating in mid-air, though shadows and other tell-tale signs of the bikes remain. I don’t know the intent of these depictions, but just seeing how riders look without the vehicles beneath them is quite amusing. It would be great to see this expanded to include a more diverse range of cyclists.
