I could see this being useful for rental fleets or city-wide yellowbike programs, but only if the inflation tube isn't the first thing that wears out on the tire. That looks to be a deal breaker.

Right now the thinnest part of the tire is in the primary wear area. Bad design. And those pressure release valves have to unbalance the wheel. Not an issue on a cruiser, but anything called "high performance" needs to be balanced for high speed/down hill riding.

at 700x28 i dont know why you'd want to go up to 120psi....unless you weigh a ton or something....

this looks like the tube is integrated into the tire, like a tubular clincher tire, like this: http://www.tufonorthamerica.com/tiretypes.php, which would mostly eliminate pinch flats, but would making patching a puncture difficult...

how is the durability of that exposed pump mechanism and handling characteristics with that bead running down the center of the tread...

will the "ampule" be destroyed by a single small puncture? especially if near the valve? my tires get all kinds of embbeded shards of small glass and road debris that dont make it to the tube but cut up the tread surface. (I ride armadillos or gatorskins)

Cool idea. I would never buy it though... nor do i think anyone who actually cares what their tire pressure is would...pumping a tire is pretty damn easy...
