Pittsburgh Hires Bike-Ped Coordinator
Pittsburgh mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Councilman Patrick Dowd announced that the city has hired Stephen Patchen as the City of Pittsburgh’s Bike and Pedestrian Coordinator. At a standing-room-only press conference held at Enrico’s Tazza D’Oro, Pittsburgh leaders talked about numerous changes that will facilitate walking and biking in the Pittsburgh region. They should issue Mr. Patchen a big walking stick and send him out to clear the ways.
Thanks to Bike-PGH for the city bike map. It might’ve saved me going off-road from McCartney (sp?) to 60, but I needed a break from traffic after the Carson/60 connection anyway, and I saw 4 deer up there.
Interesting town, especially for connoisseurs of urban industrial artifacts. I’ll see more of it sometime. Have fun riding it.
