CO2 inflators are on my bikes where I don't expect to use it, as they are of limited emergency use only. I carry a pump if I expect to use it: longer or multi-day rides. $30? How about less than $10!

Total waste. I'd rather carry a few extra grams (pauses as the weight weenies recoil in terror) and have an actual pump than use a CO2 toy.

I usually carry more than one cartridge (just in case, ya know) and stash them in the fingers of a worn out leather glove. They don't clank.

i bought one 2 months ago and have enjoyed it ever since. i used to buy the ones with the foam around them, but the rain and elements in seattle makes them deteriorate. the leather sheath is easy on the hands and will last a very long time. the machined parts are a step up from all the rest, and the regulator is easy to use. i'm pretty stoked about the Shiny Object, and am considering buying another for my other bike..

I wish I had that leather sheath last time I changed a tube in the rain. Would have prevented the cartridge from freezing to my fingers.
