Masi Speciale Strada

The Speciale Strada is Masi’s latest throwback steel road bike. This time around they’ve gone so far as to include MKS Sylvan pedals, Dura Ace downtube shifters (the only downtube shifters available from Shimano) and gum rubber hoods.

The Speciale Strada retails for $875. Visit www.masibikes.com for more info.

Man, that looks so beautiful. However, as much as I love the aesthetic of the non-aero brake levers with yellow cables… the cables are such a pain in practice. If they’re going to go all retro with the DT shifters and non-aero brake levers, couldn’t they go all-out and get a proper quill stem instead of this weird collection-of-spacers?

The cable routing is f’d up. Spacers suck.

Cool idea. Why use a threadless stem – looks rediculous? Better off rebuilding an original. Hit ebay.

I sorta agree with the stem/headset comments.Although the Aheadset system works well it is ugly.A sleek quill would look better but isn’t as readily available as in the past.Same goes for threaded headsets. All my roadbikes from the era that this Masi is supposed to represent have been changed to aero brake levers.Cables out the top aren’t an endearing feature but they can easily be changed.I personally would consider buying this bike.I like it! Just Google velogarden
