A follow-up from me, too.

Sadly my Vega was stolen. The thief tore the mount apart to get the light off...:(

So...I guess don't leave the Vega mounted? Take it with you.

Just a follow-up to my previous post: I went ahead and ordered the new bracket and, sure enough, it works great.

If you do this, however, note that you need to keep the screw and washer from the old bracket because the newer Vega 120 uses a smaller-diameter screw to secure it in place. Not a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it.

Has anyone tried using the bracket from the newer-model Vega 120 with the older Vega pictured here? Looks like you can get them for about $20 (with shipping) from a few places online.

Rather than sliding the light on and off of the mount, the entire bracket stays with the light and has an elastic band to secure it to wherever you mount it. This is attractive to me because I use my older Vega on multiple bikes, with widely varying handlebar diameters-- I need to use different spacers for each bike.

Great light.

My only complaint is also regarding how difficult it is to slide off the mount.

Hey Matthew I leave my light on the bike and charge it while it's still on, too.

I found it difficult to remove from the mount, but that would make it hard to steal, huh? A good thing!

I cracked the mount on my Vega as well - actually both the handlebar mount and the light bracket. Light and Motion did not offer a free replacement to me but sold me both for $20. After having used it daily for the last 3 years I can't complain.

I always found it hard to slide the light out and I'm sure that repeated yanking on the light eventually cracked the mounts. I've rigged the charger next to where I park the bike so, in the future, I'll just charge it on the bike.

Hopefully I'll get another couple of years out of it. Its a great light and doesn't look nearly as dorky as the new blue finned Vega.
