Kansas City Rim Race

Rim JobCaptain Unky Joins and ©hrisGo! of Go Jones Racing invite you to Kansas City for their first annual Rim Job. Meet at Acme Bicycle Company at 5:00 pm on May 24, 2008. Bring your bike, but leave your tires at home. Events will include an alleycat, a drag race and a last man standing contest.

    Seriously- is this for real? I’ve seen homeless guys ride their trikes without tires down here, but even that looks ill-advised. At the very least.

    we’re serious. it’s not like we are asking people to run tireless on their deep v’s or zipp wheels. we will be using old junked bikes, a viking funeral of sorts for old bikes / rims.
    were not asking anyone to go any farther than a block or two. plus it’s totally voluntary.
    there is also a traditional alleycat style race, footdown, skids and trackstand competitions for those who enjoy riding on tires.
    ill-advised is what we are all about. don’t want to do it, don’t show up.
