Introducing Solé Bicycles
Solé started as a college project, and now the company is in full swing, with production bikes sourced in China. True to their roots, Solé is aiming their bikes at the college market with a price point of just $379 complete.
The bike shown is a special project where they hired an artist to hand paint one of their bikes. 200 hours later, here’s the result.

Really? These have been some of the worst low-quality single-speed/fixies to come into our shop. Putting crap on the market does not encourage cycling in the long run.

I’ve had a few of these come into my shop just after unboxing. We’ve had to charge $60 to $80 just to get it safe to ride. Kind of makes the low price deceptive. And they’re really heavy bikes for a modern single speed.
The kicker is that the stock rims need 80mm presta tubes which cost almost twice what a normal tube costs. And they don’t even put rim tape on so you’re going to get flats within the first day or two.
I understand the desire for pretty bikes, but Sole does nothing to add to the market. There are already plenty of colorful options available at good pricepoints.

These bikes are CRAP! There’s no free lunch. You get what you pay for. For just $100 more or so you can get a much better bike than this.

I mean take it as you want, they are not high end by any stretch, but for an entry level they are not bad. I ride mine to work 8 miles each way, every day with no problem.
