Laplander Bags is the brainchild of Shane and Juliet, two former Philadelphia messengers. They felt there was a need in the market for more well-crafted, classic bike bags (panniers, rear bags, rack bags, porteur bags, etc.). They use waxed canvas and leather and/or “vegan” trimmings, and say that their most popular product are their “City Panniers”.

I have a pair of the vegan City Panniers and LOVE them. Waterproof even in heavy downpours, new on/off hardware system is much easier to use (they upgraded my older model bags for 5 bucks, picked up and delivered for free), and they look nice off the bike with the shoulder strap. And Juliet and Shane are awesome to order from/work with.
