Introducing Hiplok Lite

HIPLOK_LITE_PINK_SMALLThe Hiplok Lite made its debut last month at Interbike. Like the original Hiplok it’s a wearable bike lock with an adjustable belt fastening mechanism. The beauty of the design is that it doesn’t need to be locked to the rider in order to be worn.

The Hiplok Lite features a 6mm hardened steel chain and comes in six color choices, each with reflective detailing. Expect to pay about £45. Check out www.hiplok.com

This isn’t anything great and really just a marketing thing. I’ve been doing this type of thing with a Kryptonite NY FU for years now.

For security purposes, would it be any better than a £10 Masterlock?

Not just a marketing thing. I have the original version of the Hiplok, reviewed it a few months back here, and it still hangs directly next to my door for easy use throughout the week. Definitely stronger than hardware store chain, and you don’t have to lock it around your waist.
