The Harlot Scarlet-X Tech Knicker is a made for, and designed by, a woman. Comfortable, stylish and functional, they leave very little to be desired. They are made of breathable nylon and spandex with a water resistant coating. They have a padded liner (with anti-microbial silver fiber technology). Fit-wise they are low rise, contoured, and available from XS to XXL. They’re offered in four different colors, each with reflective piping down the sides, two back pockets and a zippered front pocket. The zippered front pocket is especially handy for carrying small valuables like keys or money.
I’ve owned two pair of Harlot knickers for over a year now, and they’ve never let me down. Naturally, I was excited to try the latest version. The new liner is a significant improvement, as it’s more form-fitting and noticeably more breathable. I’ve done a 50-mile ride wearing them and suffered no blisters. My only complaint is that while the original knickers had a large “Harlot” red star logo in the back pocket, the new pair only has a demure flower design.
The best thing about these knickers is that even though they are technical, they look casual enough to wear off the bike. In fact, they don’t look overly “sporty” but rather slick, and a bit edgy. I personally like that none of their colors are pink or aqua, rather they’re cool grey, black, brown and green.
The Scarlet-X Kickers retail for $85. Visit www.harlotwear.com.
