FUBi Folding Titanium Bicycle
Folding bicycles are cool, and even downright necessary for some people to be able to enjoy all that a bicycle can do. FUBi is a new folding bike project built from the ground on up, a full sized bike than can fold up into a tennis bag (everything except the wheels that is). The bike also folds with the wheels on to fit in a car trunk or small storage space. The FUBi makes use of a number of interesting innovations such as a titanium truss frame, their own one-off (and rough around the edges…) rear derailleur suited to the folding nature of the bike, and slender profile, interchangeable wheels. The drivetrain is on the outside of the right chainstay to allow easy wheel removal without having to touch the chain and slim profile folding. Like any folding bike there are compromises in the name of saving space, but just like the perfect bike has yet to be made there is no single correct folding bike design. Check out more details at the FUBi Kickstarter, it’s an interesting design no matter if you’re in the market for your own folder.
