Well why even bother putting a drivetrain on the bike. Kinda defeats the purpose of cycling. Lets just go to electric bikes. No municipality would even consider funding for this, let alone the liability concerns. This belongs in an amusement park. Total fantasyland. The title says it all – “Crazy…….Idea.”
Norway has one http://www.fresh99.com/bicycle-lift.htm
There is NO WAY the city would fund something like this…but that was never the intention of Fritz’s idea. Think of it more like “skitching”…or like the nutcase who uses suction cups to hitch rides on the back of city buses. Crazy? Sure. Fun? Hell yes.
Finally i can smoke a cigarette and eat a cheese burger while riding my bike

I should’ve tilted my diagram to show the 22 degree grade of the street.
Don’t be a fool!!!!! These cables and the pulley system are specially made and because of that cost a lot of money. If your cable riding grip brakes, it could be pulled into the pulley wheels or motors and f**k up the system. It’s antics like this that make people hate cyclist. You’re not helping the cause.
