ElliptiGO!

What? It’s Friday, I’m allowed to post crap like this. And really, is an outdoor elliptical machine that much different than hipster frankenbikes? Hell, it’s slightly more tolerable than recumbents…or maybe not. No offense. Whatever, feast your eyes on this amazing creation that gives you a workout that is 33% (exactly!) more efficient than riding a bike. Starting at $1800, you’re sure to be the brokest laughing stock of all your other fitness buddies who just suck it up and run or ride like normal human beings. The real question is, how many pieces of laundry can you dry on this thing since you ran out of room on your treadmill, weight set, Norditrack, etc.? ElliptiNO!

I could never imagine owning one, but damn that looks like a fun rental to test it out. I saw somethings like this when I was in Germany. I will have to dig up those pics and see if it is the same concept

Oh no, not people getting outside and exercising!

I think the bicycle forest treadmill bike is better… at least there’s was supposed to be a joke…

I happened upon an old co-worker commuting on one of these a few weeks ago. He was very happy with it and said it was better for his knees than a regular bicycle. Seemed a little unwieldy in the corners to me, though. But you should have seen his calves!

I’ve see several people on these here in Portland. They are really obnoxious on the multiuse trails and the riders take up the “entire” path and don’t pay attention at all. I’m not a fan.

Surprisingly they’re not the worst creation to ever grace the local multi-use path. Unlike the social two-abreast rollerbladers or those awful roller skis, people seem to hold their line and leave room for people to get around.

I will save the 1800 and go to the gym.Hey here is an idea I’ll just keep riding my bike like usual.

No way these are worse than the people with back injuries or chronic back ailments who ride recumbents. Those people fucking suck.

That’s no way to kill roaches…

[...] joke, I’ve seen at least 5 people riding this elliptical-bicycle-mashup known as an ElliptiGO in Los Angeles already. I’ve only been here for a week. Share this: Bridging The Gap [...]

I do the MS100 from Orange County, Ca. to San Diego every year, and we saw some people on these two years ago!

I’ve seen a few of these here in Orange County, California. Always ridden by middle aged woman on sidewalks next to a bike lane.

My buddy bought one last summer and swears by it. He ran for most of his life and his knees started giving him problems. He has a back issue so biking was out. He rides this all the time, even in races and hangs with other cyclists. It also climbs hills like a billy goat.

I’m not going to fault anyone for riding something that gets their ass off the couch.
