A couple taps to get the point across. The guy will probably barely be bruised but will get the point. Calling the cops doesn't guarantee a thing in this situation. And getting sued? By a thief you probably wants to separate himself from the law as much as possible? As far as the video shows, the guy wasn't hurt but will think twice before messing around with that cannondale bike again.
