Deghri Messengers is set to become the first bike messenger company in the Arab world. It’s an initiative by Lebanese grass-roots cycling organization CyclingCircle, led by bike messenger Matt Saunders. From the press release:
‘Deghri’ is Lebanese colloquial Arabic for ‘straight on’ or ‘right away’. This reflects the messengers’ mission to deliver the most efficient service, using their advantage over cars to get packages to customers on time, every time. The start-up enterprise aims to use the income from deliveries to pay the messengers fair salaries as well as to support other cycling projects throughout Lebanon both logistically and financially.
