Dahon BioLogic ReeCharge

Dahon recently unveiled their BioLogic ReeCharge, which basically a bike-mounted battery that will capture the electricity from dynamo hubs (although you can also charge it from a wall outlet).

It can be used to power things like iPhones while you ride, because it has a level output, but it can also be removed very easily from the bike and taken almost anywhere you need extra juice.

1600 mAh is a decent charging capacity. It’s about 1/4 of the capacity of the battery in my MacBook Pro.

The charger is not compatible with Apple products, although it is advertised as such. Dahon claims Apple’s proprietary software is the problem and said the issue would be resolved in the new year. There have been no updates to fix this. It’s a great idea, it just doesn’t work for any Apple products.
