Chemical Brothers Velodrome

This is the video that is played in the venue before all the olympic track races. Inspired by Tron, the visuals are pretty sweet despite some 80′s heavy angular body types, and the track was created by the Chemical Brothers specifically for these events. LOCOG, the creators of the controversial London 2012 logo, worked with animation team Crystal CG to put this video together. What do you think, does this video get you hyped? It got me thinking someone needs to go all Astro-bowl with a velodrome, throw up some black lights and stage a visually amazing indoor track race. Red Bull, you listening?

I think the ’80s graphics are also somewhat of a Kraftwerk tribute (along with the song itself).

I definitely agree with Mad Jack, this is a tribute to “Tour de France” and the Kraftwerk sound on general.

Wolff Olins were the creators of the logo and brand. LOCOG is the committee.Y

I was trying to place the homage, and yes, it is Kraftwerk all the way. Actually, it feels dated.

Pumped for track… a little. I tend to pick apart things like this and focus on what is not quite right.

What would have gotten me pumped for track? A bell every 5 laps. :)
