why is it that people have such hatred for cycling and cyclists? surely its not just b/c of an encounter they may have had with a hostile courier or fixtrick kid. the comments on the charleston paper site are appalling. how is it that use of a bicycle somehow removes 'human being' from the mindset of these swine?

If the bike guy was in a car, wouldn't the Jeep guy be charged with, basically, rear-ending him? It doesn't matter if the bike guy was to the right, it was his lane. He was in front. If he was driving a car, the Jeep guy had no right to squeeze by him. Does that state say that bicycles are vehicles?

Is the Jeep guy some rich guy's kid? Some politician's kid?
