The Works Vol II Alleycat Philadelphia

The Works Vol II is the return of a successful alleycat that helps to provide vital funding to Philadelphia’s Neighborhood Bike Works. This year they’re looking to raise $5000 to cover the full cost of an 8-week after-school Earn-a-Bike program. Have fun, race around, help kids.

Tiny Fix Ace Race: Memorial Day Weekend

Tiny Fix is throwing their first alleycat in Chicago on Memorial Day Weekend, 2012:

The race meets at 3pm on Sat, May 26th in Humboldt Park at the corner of North and Kedzie. Bring $5 for registration, a pen, a bike, a u-lock and your game face.

New Amsterdam Bicycle Show – April 28-29 2012

The New Amsterdam Bicycle Show in New York City is happening on April 28-29 this year, with a larger expo area then in the past as the show continues to grow. Attendees have the aforementioned manufacturer expo area, a fashion show, guest speakers and a beer garden to look forward to. The whole show benefits Transportation Alternatives.

The Hunt – London Fixed Gear Crit

Modeled at least in part after the successful Red Hook Crit, London is hosting The Hunt fixed gear crit on May 6. It’s a closed circuit, just under a mile in total length, with a few twists and turns so it’s hardly an outdoor track race. Track bikes only, run with elimination heats taking the field down to 30 riders and a 30 minute + 5 laps final.

Levi’s Commuter Jeans Launch Parties

Levi’s is throwing a series of launch parties again this year, with the first coming up on March 29th in San Francisco, with other parties in Austin, LA, Philadelphia and New York coming up throughout the spring. Look for another round this summer in Chicago, Portland and Minneapolis.
