Cane Creek AngleSet Headset

The new Cane Creek AngleSet headset has little to no use in the urban cycling market, but for the tech nerds is an interesting piece of kit coming from the highest end of mountain bike racing. Using the 1.5″ oversized headtubes common on downhill bikes, this headset allows you to adjust the headangle of the bike up to +/- 1.5 degrees in .5 degree increments. By using a 1 1/8″ steerer fork and swapping out different offset top assembly pieces the head angle can be altered to fit a given fork or to adjust for course conditions. Developed with Santa Cruz Bicycles, the AngleSet is clearly meant for the upper echelon of downhill racing and will be priced accordingly.

  • I believe there is a lot of potential for adjustable head angle headsets in commuters because it could reduce the trail and make for much better front weight loading handling. You hear me Cane Creek?

  • I would rather have a fork with more rake. Simpler is usually synonymous with better.
