BikeSnobNYC joins Bicycling Magazine

jumptheshark Bicycling Magazine has announced a new monthly column from the likes of BikeSnobNYC, one of the wittiest cynics out there commenting on the industry and culture surrounding two wheels. Since the Style Man is a thing of the past, BikeSnobNYC will now have to provide Bicycling Magazine readers with their self-deprecating dose of humor every few weeks.

  • can’t imagine bikeSnob gelling with Bicycling Rag’s readers much…
maybe he can teach them a thing or 2, though I highly doubt it.
don’t see this partnership lasting long, thankfully.
    long live NYCBS!

  • I don’t miss “Style Man” one bit. I’m semi-excited to see Snobby in the pages of that rag, though…might finally be a reason to actually page through it with anything other than disgust.

  • I think Style Man was Bikesnob and the change is only recognizing that it is BSNYC now.

  • I’ll stick to his blog rather than give that rag a dime.

  • I like Bicycling. Liked Style Man too.

  • Toward the end of Style Man’s reign, he certainly “thought” he was BSNYC. Not nearly as talented a writer, though.

And for the record, I have my library carry a subscription to Bicycling for me…I haven’t paid them a dime since the mid-80s.

  • I was a fan of Style Man. It should be interesting to see what BSNYC comes up with for Bicycling.

Your illustration for this post is a hoot. Jumping the shark, indeed.

  • Perfect photo for this! It’s all downhill from here!

  • yes, the Fonz h2o skiing with leather is the essence of tackiness, just like Bicycling Magazine! –trying to be cool, and anything BUT.

  • If Bike Snob can come up with something new in bike clothing and more beautiful designes in bikes, for instance, alulminum bamboo, or garter snake skin covered bikes, well it will be a bird of a different feather.
