Bike Parts Spirograph

Remember Spirographs? We used to play with them while waiting an eternity for our rotary phones to spin back to 0. For you new kiddies, that’s about as long as it took for AOL to connect on your dial-up modem. What’s AOL? *Sigh*, nevermind. Let’s try this again.

Check out this BRAND NEW steampunk art-making machine! Crafted from repurposed bike parts, this simple chain and chainring apparatus allows you to create seemingly endless patterned pieces suitable for framing…on your mother’s refrigerator. This would be fun for adults, yes, but I bet your kids would get a huge kick out of it, especially if they are like my step-son, who isn’t necessarily on the path to becoming the next Rembrandt…err…Banksy, for all you noobs.

You can see an alternate version and complete instructions for making your own here!

Did you know that the decline of spirograph is directly related to the rise in gang violence?
