Anthropologie Rickshaw

Retailer Anthropologie is now offering a Rickshaw on their website, presumably for ironically carting your friends around in. For $2200 you get what looks like an “authentic” rickshaw with a collapsible sunshade, truss fork, and double front triangle along with the bolt-on passenger carrier. Available for $2200 with decorations already applied, I’d guess there are only a few of these and that they’re all a bit different from one another.

These are expensive bikes here, and are surely expensive for the drivers that pilot these in many parts of the world. I wonder how many trips it takes a driver to earn their wheels, in India for instance?

Bet Asian rickshaw drivers aren’t getting their wheels at Anthropologie – more like the local landfill and blacksmith.

Urban goes with Fixed Gears and Dutch Bikes that fall apart. Anthropologie gets a Rickshaw.
