Earlier this month, the New York Times ran an article on the taming of NYC’s streets. New York’s 5,800 miles of paved surfaces make up most of the city’s public space. The article explores alternative uses for these spaces, which result in safer passage for pedestrians and cyclists, calmer automobile traffic and increased public space for the city’s children.
