NPR ran an awesome story on Afghan amputee bike messengers this morning. The sad fact of the matter is that there are lots of men in Kabul who have lost a limb to land mines. And when this happens they are often left with no recourse other than to beg for money on the streets.
Thankfully, there are people in Kabul smart enough to realize that bike messengers are an efficient delivery option for a high-traffic city that’s growing more congested every day.
